Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an extra layer of protection which significantly increases the security of your account.

When you activate 2FA in your FeedOtter account, you will be required to enter a one-time code from your mobile device or email every time when logging in.

Turning On Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Login to your FeedOtter account. and click the Gear icon in the top-right corner and click Settings.
  2. Select Security in the left column.
  3. Click the obvious button to enable two-factor authentication.

Two-factor Authentication Options

FeedOtter allows you to authenticate via email or a popular authentication app such as Google Authenticator.

Google Authenticator is available for iOS(opens in a new tab) as well as for Android(opens in a new tab).

Authenticator App

  1. Select Authenticator Mobile App from the dropdown.
  2. Scan the QR code or manually enter the ID in your authenticator app to add FeedOtter.
  3. Enter the code provided by your authenticator app into FeedOtter and click Activate.

That's it.  The next time you login to FeedOtter you will presented with a box requesting your 2fa code.

Email Authentication

  1. Select Email as your authentication type.
  2. Click the Send Email button.
  3. Check your email and enter the code within.
  4. Click Activate.

Type the verification code from your email into FeedOtter. Click Activate.

 

 

Logging in with two-factor authentication

After you activate 2FA in your account, you will be required to enter a one-time code generated by your Authenticator app or received via email every time when logging in.

After entering your email address and password, you will see this screen:

Having trouble logging in?

Please note that the codes generated by the Authenticator app or received via email are only valid for a short period of time. Therefore make sure you are entering a valid code.
